Has anyone ever tried Saw Palmetto as a means of lowering DHT levels in the scalp area? Any positive or negative experiences with this herb?
Despite the hype of “all natural” and “herbal” hair loss products, I have yet to see any compelling evidence that saw palmetto or any other herb works to combat hair loss.
When I first started losing my hair, I tried a number of these products hoping that these companies were telling the truth. Experientially I learned over a period of a couple years, that these hair loss “wonder drugs” did nothing for me. In fact, I only lost more hair in the process.
BUT…since I don’t judge everything based on my personal experience (after all, there is no hair loss cure yet anyway), I’ve done research to see if anyone else has reported a positive experience with saw palmetto among other various products. Other than commercialized testimonies (and we all know we can trust these companies right?), I have yet to read any convincing testimonies as to any of these products fighting against hair loss.
My advice…
Research and consider finasteride and/or Minoxodil, the only two FDA approved medications for hair loss that have publicized proof of efficacy.
