What is the Average Width of a Hair Transplant Donor Strip?
This insightful answer was provided by Dr. William Lindsey of Mclean, VA who is one of our recommended hair restoration physicians.
In general, what is the average width of a hair transplant donor strip?
In our clinic, our [tag]hair transplant[/tag] donor strips are generally about the same width as a stick of gum or about 1.8cm. We vary the length with the amount of [tag]follicular unit grafts[/tag] required.
Sometimes even a donor strip that narrow results in a tight closure in patients with really tight scalps. However, in most cases it allows us to get a tension free, everted trichophytic closure.
