Hair Loss Myth: Masturbation Or Frequent Sex Causes Baldness
Many hair loss sufferers before any traces of [tag]balding[/tag] have heard rumors that frequent sex or masturbation can cause [tag]baldness[/tag]. Let’s come out with it up front, this is a hair loss myth and a fallacy. Ironically, the oppositive rumor has also been heard. There is no scientific evidence however, to suggest that any chemicals released during sex or masturbation can impact hair loss or [tag]hair growth[/tag] in one way or the other.
The most common type of [tag]hair loss[/tag] is hereditary which is caused by the genes. These genes are responsible for programming certain hair follicles to be susceptible to [tag]dihydrotestosterone[/tag] ([tag]DHT[/tag]). When [tag]5-alpha-reductase[/tag] enzymes combine with [tag]testosterone[/tag] in the body, this DHT is created. When it bindes to the receptor sites of the [tag]hair follicle[/tag], the hairs that are susceptible to DHT begin to weaken and eventually die. Symptoms of the hair follicle dying include, [tag]hair miniaturization[/tag], additional or rapid [tag]hair shedding[/tag] due to a quicker [tag]hair growth cycle[/tag], thinner, finer, and lighter colored hair, and going [tag]bald[/tag].
