What is the Cause of My Itchy, Red Patches of Hair Loss?

I have small, itchy red patches of [tag]hair loss[/tag].   What could be causing this and how can I treat it?

Though the most common type of hair loss  is [tag]androgenetic alopecia[/tag] ([tag]genetic hair loss[/tag]), this type of [tag]baldness[/tag] sounds like it could be related to a scalp condition such as seborrehic dermatitis or psoriasis.  

Be sure to consult with a [tag]dermatologist[/tag] or [tag]hair restoration physician[/tag] in order to determine the cause of your hair loss  condition.   Only then can a proper [tag]hair loss treatment[/tag] be recommended.
