Did I lose a Hair Graft 25 Days After a Hair Transplant?
As of today, I am 25 days out from a [tag]hair transplant[/tag].and I have a concern. After getting out of the shower this morning, there were a couple of areas that were really red. Upon gently touching the area with a Q-tip, and there was a fluid mix on the tip. It wasn’t a bright, blood red, but it still concerned me. Does this mean that I lost a [tag]hair graft[/tag]? My [tag]hair restoration physician[/tag] has told me that at this point there is no way that I could have lost a graft. I just wanted to check and see if anyone else had experienced this. Thanks so much for any help!
Thank you for your inquiry,
I agree with your [tag]hair restoration[/tag] doctor that it would be very unlikely to lose a [tag]follicular unit graft[/tag] 25 days out from [tag]hair transplantation[/tag] surgery.
However extreme redness and/or fluid might indicate a possible infection in the area which is a rare but possible risk in hair transplantation. Therefore, I recommend consulting with your [tag]hair transplant doctor[/tag] to have him evaluate the area of concern. In the meantime, do your best to keep the area clean. You might want to avoid using any hair products or [tag]hair loss treatments[/tag] such as Rogaine with Minoxodil because it might further irritate the area.
