Should I Undergo Hair Transplant Surgery Now, or Wait for “Stem Cell” Hair Loss Treatments?

I’ve recently read a lot of exciting news regarding [tag]stem cell[/tag] based [tag]injectable hair loss therapies[/tag] and [tag]hair duplication[/tag] (formerly known as [tag]autocloning[/tag]), and I started wondering: should I investigate [tag]hair transplant surgery[/tag] now, or wait for these [tag]future hair loss treatments[/tag]?

Although recent reports of [tag]injectable hair loss cure[/tag]s and scientific research like the [tag]ACell[/tag] [tag]Matristem[/tag] projects are exciting and likely represent a hypothetical new shift in the way we treat [tag]hair loss[/tag], it’s always best to be mindful of treatments that are safe, effective, and currently available, and “cautiously optimistic” toward future modalities.

Because of the progressive and unpredictable nature of hair loss, it’s probably best to utilize the available solutions today (such as [tag]Rogaine[/tag]/[tag]minoxidil[/tag], [tag]Propecia[/tag]/[tag]finasteride[/tag], and, if appropriate, [tag]surgical hair restoration[/tag]) and maintain your current level of native hair. Remember, seeking treatment now does not mean you’ll be ineligible for future therapies, and the more you stabilize your current level of hair loss today, the better the chance of successful future treatments tomorrow.
