How Does Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) Differ from Other Forms of Hair Loss?

Most [tag]hair loss[/tag] is the result of [tag]androgenic alopecia[/tag], also known as pattern [tag]baldness[/tag]. However, there are other forms of alopecia that affect both men and women with [tag]thinning hair[/tag]. One of these is known as [tag]diffuse unpatterned alopecia[/tag] or [tag]DUPA[/tag].

DUPA is characterized by diffuse [tag]balding[/tag] throughout the entire scalp with no stable permanent zone. It affects both men and women but is about 10 times more common in females.
