What treatments are available for female hair loss?

I have just noticed thinning of my hair. What treatments are available for [tag]female hair loss[/tag]?

Women can experience [tag]hair loss[/tag] due to changes in their hormones associated with pregnancy or metapause. For woman with hair loss due to hormonal changes/issues the underlying changes and stresses need to be addressed by a physician.

Some woman experience hair loss similar to the classic [tag]male pattern baldness[/tag] that men have. For woman with such hair loss [tag]Rogaine for women[/tag] is perhaps one of the most effective treatments. [tag]Propecia[/tag] is prescribed only for men and should not be used by women. Some women are good candidates for surgical [tag]hair restoration[/tag]. But only if their thinning/balding is in concentrated areas. Women with diffuse thinning throughout the scalp are not good candidates for [tag]hair transplantation[/tag].
