To combat against [tag]hair loss[/tag], I’ve been told by my dermatologist to use [tag]Rogaine 5%[/tag]. How do I apply it?

Though [tag]Rogaine with minoxodil[/tag] has only been tested and [tag]FDA approved[/tag] as a [tag]hair loss treatment[/tag] for the crown, many quality [tag]hair transplant surgeons[/tag] and [tag]hair loss[/tag] patients swear by it’s efficacy in the [tag]bald[/tag] crown.
Rogaine comes in two forms, a liquid and a foam. [tag]Rogaine liquid[/tag] can be applied with one of two applicators. The Rogaine spray should be pumped 3 times into the balding region whereas the Rogaine dropper is only used once per time used. Both methods end up utilizing approximately 1 ml of the [tag]hair loss remedy[/tag]. [tag]Rogaine foam[/tag] is easily applied by pumping the foam into your palm and lathering it into the balding areas. The foam has also been said to be less of a scalp irritant due to it’s lack of the ingredient propylene glycol which is present in the Rogaine liquid.

I have been using Regaine 5% liquid for the past 3 years now. I have seen very good results, with the shedding decreasing . However, I have a very weird case. Here is how it goes: I trim my head using a shaving machine to level 1 or 2. I notice that the hair loss stops completely. However, in 4-5 months time, as the hair becomes longer, my hair starts shedding again, until it reaches a climax of extreme loss at the end of the 5th month. (this is not due to hair length, as I have tested hair loss even when the hair is very short). Once I reach the 5th month, I shave my head again, and in a week's time, the hair loss stops completely, only to start shedding again at the 5th month. I use regaine 5% through out all these phases. This is very weird. Does this mean regaine works only on very short hair? Or does this mean the scalp is not absorbing the regaine once my hair becomes longer?
Does anyone have a clue on why this is happening?
