Study Finds More Hair Loss Sufferers Open to Discussing Hair Restoration

In another recent study conducted by the International Society of [tag]Hair Restoration[/tag] Surgery ([tag]ISHRS[/tag]), researchers found that [tag]hair loss[/tag] sufferers are becoming more open and honest when it comes to discussing personal hair restoration.

The study, which was conducted both in 2008 and 2010, asked [tag]hair transplant[/tag] patients (and physicians) if they planned to discuss their medical regimens and surgical procedures with other individuals. According to the study, the number of [tag]hair loss patients[/tag] who claimed they felt comfortable sharing this information increased between 2008 and 2010.

The findings demonstrate that 56.4% of [tag]hair restoration surgeons[/tag] (who responded on behalf of their respective patients) state their patient population is more likely to discuss the procedure in 2010 compared to 2008. Furthermore, 36.2% of surgeons believed their patient population is just as likely to discuss their hair restoration in 2010 versus 2008, and that only 7.4% believe patients are less likely to discuss [tag]hair transplant surgery[/tag] in 2010 opposed to 2008.

Although the study seems to investigate patient sentiment as monitored by operating [tag]hair transplant surgeons[/tag], it does appear to represent a positive shift in the perception of medical hair restoration. As [tag]hair loss treatments[/tag] become more refined, common, and readily available, we believe the number of individuals who openly and confidently discuss their hair restoration journeys will continue increasing.
