Hair Coloring, Hair Piece, Topical Aids After a Hair Transplant

How long after [tag]hair transplant[/tag] surgery will I have to wait to color my hair?   Will I have to use any topical aids after surgery?   Can I wear a [tag]wig[/tag] after [tag]hair transplantation[/tag]?

It is always best to check with your [tag]hair transplant physician[/tag] as many [tag]hair restoration[/tag] clinics have varying policies on resuming normal activity.

I will answer your questions however, in a general sense from my understanding.

Hair Coloring:  

Personally, I would wait at least a month before you color your hair.   Though the [tag]follicular unit[/tag] grafts will be set between 8-10 days, depending on the hair coloring treatment,  it may potentially irritate your scalp  or negatively impact the  overall healing process.  

[tag]Hair Piece[/tag] (Wig)

Some will suggest that you can wear a hair piece as early as 3-5 days post-op from a hair transplant.   I personally suggest waiting until the grafts are secured at or around day 10 or until the [tag]recipient area[/tag] scabs are gone (which ever comes last).   This will ensure the safety of the grafts.

Topical Aids

Topical aids are not necessary in order for a successful hair transplant.   Time is the best of all healers.   However, many [tag]hair restoration physician[/tag]s do recommend the use of varying topical aids.   Some of these include: Saline Solution, [tag]Copper Peptides[/tag], [tag]Graftcyte[/tag], Aloe Vera Gel, Vitamin E Oil, Emu Oil, etc.

Personally the only topical aid I used was Aloe Vera starting ten days after my hair transplant.   In my opinion it helps with recipient area itching, elongated redness,  and soothes the skin.
