Loss of Transplanted Hair 5 Years After Forehead Reduction – What is Causing This?

I too have lost half of my [tag]transplanted hair[/tag] of 3 years and continue to [tag]lose hair[/tag] daily.   All are from the bang area.   You mentioned that you have been down that road too [tag]Dr. Siporin[/tag].   I have 2 questions:   1) What did you do for your case? 2) What are the options to fix my [tag]balding[/tag] scalp now showing through?   I am very upset to see more hair fall out around the hairline.   The rest of the scalp is fine.   I had a forehead reduction 5 years ago.   A fine line was cut and a strip of skin was removed and then stitched.   I had  2 [tag]hair transplant[/tag] surgeries 2 years apart and are about half an inch to an inch from the stitch line.   The grafts too initially but slowly are falling out.   What are my options to fill in the hairline / bang area?   Please tell me your opinion on future options to regain hair in any yway.   Thank you!

Without seeing a patient in person, it is nearly impossible to provide an adequate diagnosis, and this is not a straight forward case. The fact that transplanted hair lasted five years before falling out, argues against any vascular or blood supply issue, and my initial thought is that hair was harvested from an unstable donor area, and that hair has now reached the end of the line. In other words, donor areas which contain [tag]hair miniaturization[/tag] are less likely to be stable over time, and may eventually fall out. I could make a better assesment if I could actually examine the patient, so I hope I can be of some assistance in this case.
