How Many Follicular Units Are on a Healthy Scalp with No Hair Loss?

I know its kind of a useless question since you can’t extract the grafts on the areas that are not considered the donor area, but how many grafts in total does your average person have on their entire scalp if they were not [tag]balding[/tag]?

I suppose this question could be answered by considering two averages. First, the average human head has about 100,000 hairs. It’s also said that the average number of hairs per follicular unit is about 2.2.

If these numbers are correct, that would put the average number of [tag]follicular units[/tag] on a healthy head with no [tag]hair loss[/tag] at around 45,455 with only about 8,000 [tag]hair transplant[/tag] donor grafts available in the “permanent zone”.
