Most active members on our hair loss forum know that male pattern baldness is caused by genetics and that the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is responsible for the loss of hair genetically susceptible to it. Some hair loss treatments like Propecia (finasteride) work by blocking 5-alpha-reductase enzymes which when combined with testosterone, produce DHT. But why do proven hair loss treatment solutions like Propecia work wonders for some and aren’t as effective for others?

On this hair loss forum thread, forum members discuss their experience with hair loss solutions nd offer an explanation as to why some balding men have better success than others with non-surgical treatments. You are encouraged to offer your own experience and input.
