It is a type of scalp reduction, as has been pointed out, that has stood the test of time. It is best performed on females who have no ongoing hair loss. Some males who have had transplants or will commit themselves to having them later might be considered only after extensive counseling. In general I discourage men from having this operation.If they are having male pattern loss follicular unit grafting should be considered first. Also women with female or male pattern loss should be similarly discouraged. It is fabulous procedure for those women who are self conscious of a high ,masculine hairline, who have always had this condition , who have a familial tenecy for this and have adequate laxity of the forehead and scalp.
