Hair Loss Myth: Genetic Link to Mother’s Side of the Family

My mother’s father has a full thick head of hair so it always gave me comfort. But I’m now 24 years old and I’m losing hair. Why would this be happening?
It is true that Androgenetic Alopecia (hereditary hair loss) is caused by genetics however, it is not only the genes inherited from the mother but also the father that determines if we keep or lose hair. Likewise it is also a myth that the father’s genes are solely responsible for the cause of female hair loss.
The truth is, both the mother’s and the father’s genes are going to influence whether or not we inherit hereditary hair loss.
