Shadi,

Men's Rogaine is perfectly safe for use by women. In fact, many hair loss physicians recommend the 5% solution for their female patients.

Minoxidil has been used in the past to lower blood pressure. However, it is highly unlikely that applying Rogaine to the scalp will have a significant impact on blood pressure.

The higher dose may result in a greater risk of known side effects including scalp irritation and an increase in facial hair growth.

i visit dermatologist and he suggested to use rogaine foam 5% men ,once a day
is it going to be harmful for me,since it's men's?

Julia,

I would review and consult with one of our recommended hair transplant surgeons in Europe(http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/hair-loss-doctors-europe.asp) or France specifically (http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/surgeon-list.asp?StateAbr=FRA) and discuss the hair line lowering procedure with one (or several) of these excellent physicians.

I hope this helps!

Ted,

Scar revision (using a standard or trichophytic closure) is definitely an option for patients who are not happy with previous hair transplant scars. A trichophytic closure helps reduce tension on the wound, and, in doing so, reduces the possibility of stretching. If you're interested in this procedure, I highly recommend consulting with one of our qualified hair transplant surgeons:

Comment on How Many Grafts Do I Need For A Hair Transplant? by Blake aka - FutureHTDoc

Pavitra,

First, I recommend consulting with a dermatologist to ensure that the hair loss is a form of genetic balding and not caused by an outside factor.

Next, I would highly investigate preventive medications such as finasteride (Propecia) and minoxidil (Rogaine). These could really help stop and improve some of the hair loss.

Third, although it's difficult to estimate the number of grafts (without pictures), I recommend trying the hair loss learning center graft calculator:

http://www.hairlosslearningcenter.org/content/common-elements/mm/introa.html

This should give you a rough estimate of where you stand and how you would like to proceed.

Finally, the goal of hair transplantation is creating the illusion of density. You most likely will not have hair like you did as a child, but a skilled surgeon can create an excellent, cosmetically significant result. To find one of these surgeons, follow this link:

Craig,

Shock loss around the donor scar area (the shedding you are describing) is a pretty common occurrence. It usually comes back within 3-4 months and demonstrates the same characteristics as before (ie: it doesn't come back thinner or thicker - usually).

If you're researching a second procedure, I highly recommend reviewing our recommended hair transplant surgeons:

I have had three HT and two strip scars. I am hoping to get a trico closure hoping to minimize one of the scars - is this a viable option?

I just wanted to add my experience of this procedure.

I had this procedure performed almost exactly one year ago today (in England). My preoperative hairline was 7cms (from top of eyebrows to hairline) and is now 5cms. This operation has truly transformed my life. Before I was always extremely self conscious (I had a fringe and I hated the wind, going to the hairdressers, basically anything that would leave my forehead exposed). Now I can live my life without worrying about anybody seeing my forehead. The operation was performed without complication and my scar is practically invisible. I always remember thinking that one day I would find a way to have my hairline lowered, I just didn't think it would be so soon (I am 22). For others in the same position I would urge you to seriously look into having this procedure performed, do not wait around for years thinking about it, resolve the issue as soon as you can and live your life to the fullest.

Kindest wishes to everyone.

Just to add, ARI has purchased them and they actually made good use of their ICX-TRC flagship development.
Now it's being used in advanced trials and we might be able to get the benefits of it soon. So not all for nothing in the case of Intercytex!
